The london eye is tall, about 130 meters. View would have been awesome had it not been raining so bad Posted by Picasa

The London Eye

This was the only touristy thing i did today (13 pounds). If i had done all the tourist things that i talked by i'm sure it would have been at least 100 pounds (more than $200). London is expensive.

On the other hand, lunch at McDonalds only cost 3.79, which is about $8 CAD for a supersize meal which was reasonable i thought Posted by Picasa

There is a running steam locomotive that you can take a ride on through the moors (picture of the station in a couple of pictures ahead). Posted by Picasa

The local pub. In all the small towns we drove through the central feature was a local pub/inn.

In one of the small towns we were in, bernie went in to get directions and got excellent directions (the best that day) from this old english "gentlemen" who was totally wasted at 1pm in the afternoon sittiing in the pub drinking is beer.... Posted by Picasa

It was scenes like this that allowed me to understand how JRR tolkien must have pictured middle earth and hobiton especially. Posted by Picasa
